According to WREG, Callie said, “Well, I can’t describe it. I’m thankful I’m physically able to do some of the things I used to do,” she added, “I guess it’s not a lot of 101-year-old people in Memphis still working because they say, ‘Still working?’ Well, I’m still alive.”

Last year, when she turned 100, during her birthday celebration she admitted that she was ready to retire. However, things didn’t go as planned, so her retirement is not her option. She said, “Well if you don’t use it, you lose it and people want me to work on them and they pay me, so why not do it.”

She credits her long life for allowing her to work which she loves and didn’t want to stop. She said, “I guess my secret is just working and keeping busy because that’s what I’ve done. I had a very successful business and what I do, I enjoy doing.”

“Just do the right thing. What I mean is, you may be a church person. Do you believe in the Bible? Just live it,” She added, “Love people. Regardless of who they are. If they don’t love you in return it doesn’t matter.”

Rachel Mrs. Terrell did my hair as a teenager! She still sounds the same and is still stepping spryly and looks well. She went to our church and was/is a lovely soul.

Shirley God bless her! Also, can we take a moment to recognize how on point she is with those sections & rollers!!! So neat & perfect! She could teach these new “cosmetologists” a thing or two!

Nay THE FACT THAT HER DAUGHTER DONT DRIVE ANYMORE SHOULD WANT TO GIVE HER HOPE TO KEEP GOING…AND MOM STILL STYLING HER DAUGHTERS HAIR…AMAZING
